The News from London

The news coming out of London this morning is horrific. Also disturbing is that the focus of the reaction is all wrong. Ken Livingstone says the blame 'should be laid at the door of the terrorists' and I've heard quotes from prominent politicians expressing sympathy to the policeman who shot the victim. I find this incredibly distasteful and not a little worrying. I worry that in the context of the London bombings, such tragedies will be considered regrettable but acceptable.

An innocent man was killed, the terrorists are not to blame, and we should have no sympathy for the guy that killed him.
