Perooooooooooooo

Im in Lima, Peru.

Ive really taken to this city. The people are friendly beyond belief, but its the most un-Latin city Ive been to in South America. The city centre feels more like a central European city like Prague or Vienna than any Latin city Ive ever seen. I really havent spent anywhere near enough time in Peru, not even in Lima. Maybe Ill end my trip here if I can fly directly from Peru to Spain.

I was met at the airport. I havent been met at an airport for years and when it happens it makes my day. Admittedly it was only the taxi driver from my hotel but he was very nice (although he did try and overcharge me, but Im used to being overcharged by the people I love).

I bought my friend Colm a Peruvian chess set. This is the guy who told me to, excuse my French, "Fuck off" when I asked him to recharge my UK pay-as-u-go mobile last week. Still, Im not one to hold a grudge. I also bought a very cool retro Citizen digital watch.

Im flying to Buenos Aires tonight at the horrendous time of 00.30, arriving at 7am. Ill be staying at a hotel called Dazzler Libertad for two reasons - 1) Any hotel with Dazzler in its name has gotta be good, right? 2) Its website tells me the staff are "young and attractive", which is A Good Thing. Apparantly there are riots going on right now in BA because of the Americas Summit.

My brothers baby is due next week. Im pretty certain its going to be either a boy or a girl.
